Here a Post, There a Post...

How did it become February already?!! I've slacked quite a bit this year on my blog, but for due reason. After the holidays came and went, I was completely swept up in work at the studio and work at home. "Home" work, meaning freelance work. It's exciting to work on a project outside of office stuff, and know I've got some more money coming my way. But, MAN, has it put a damper on any kind of social life I previously had. These are about the only recent items of note:

Last weekend Daniel was in town for a bachelor party, and had a chance to hang for awhile afterwards. It's always great to see him, and rekindle some fond memories of our beloved "Magnificent 7". I feel like he's grown up so much, working in Boston now in the political circuit as an aide. I'm just so proud of the boy ! Lisa and I attacked the grilling for the evening at Danielle's apt. and much to our pleasure didn't kill anyone in the process. A few singed eyebrows, perhaps, but all in all the burgers were pretty tasty. Whew!

Superbowl came and went with a thud. Mike was SO excited the Bears finally made it back to the Superbowl. We went to his friend Mark's apartment to celebrate and watch the game with fellow Chicagoans. Mike was in fine form dressed in complete Bears attire, including blue sweatpants, orange shirt, and those Ditka sunglasses. We had a good time hanging out, but it was pretty depressing after halftime. Hats were thrown to the ground and tears wiped away, but we came home saddened by the loss and with a strong desire to buy an LCD TV. Man, those things are pretty. Prince is too.

LOST started back up. Yep. I'll keep watching, but I'm not falling over this first episode after making us WAIT for so damn long.

We've gained a new betta fishie this year- his name is "Gaius" after two of our favorite shows, Battlestar Galactica and ROME. If you're not watching these, you're missing out. It's the best acting and writing on television right now. PERIOD. And if you didn't hear about what happened to Locke, our other Betta, read Mike's new and outstanding (if I do say so myself) blog here.
