For some reason, I've been thinking of the movie "Frankenstein" (or as Mel Brooks says, "Frahnkenshteen?") lately. Or at least the classic line, "It's aliiivvvveeee!" as yelled by Dr. Frankenstein upon seeing his creation rise from the science slab.
Perhaps it's because I finally (ok, well 99.9%) finished my freelance job I've had since Thanksgiving. That's right. Lemme say it again. I'm DONE! I'M ALIIIVVEEE!
My brain wants to sleep for about two weeks straight now. However, my body's been on overdrive trying to get out the door and DO stuff. I was pathetically making a list of all the things I wanted to do when I "resurfaced". A few of these I've gotten to recently, like:
- I had a FABULOUS co-birthday party with my friend David. It was filled with piratical shenanigans at a local pirate bar (that's right, I said it- PIRATES).
- Saw my first Hollywood Bowl show of the season- The Decemberists with Andrew Bird and Band of Horses. LOVED it. They're like watching a good play. I want to animate all of their songs while wearing vintage clothes and humming sea shanties.
- Saw Harry Potter 5 and Ratatouille. Both excellent. And both...really not for kids.
- 4th of July partying consisted of one "comedy of errors" BBQ in the noho park, and a few days before that a "White Trash Party" happily thought up and hosted by the lovely Daisy and Danielle Dynamic Duo. Quite the hootenanny with fire-dancing and pool filled w/ Pabst. Wee doggie!
More to come- I'm planning to pack these next two months with fun and frivolity! Boo-yeah!
